Mansion Sports - Real Madrid forward Rodrygo Goes appears to be edging closer to a departure from the Santiago Bernabéu during this summer’s transfer window. 

The Brazilian star’s diminishing role in the squad—evidenced by limited minutes during the FIFA Club World Cup and his absence in the final La Liga fixture of last season—strongly suggests that his future with Los Blancos is fading. Arsenal Withdraws After Securing Two New Forwards

Rodrygo had previously been strongly linked with a move to Arsenal. However, following the North London club’s acquisition of Noni Madueke from Chelsea and the reported agreement for Viktor Gyökeres from Sporting CP, their attacking department is seen as sufficiently reinforced.

Reports from Madrid have confirmed that Arsenal is no longer in contention as a potential destination for the 23-year-old.

According to leading journalist Florian Plettenberg, Liverpool is closely monitoring Rodrygo’s situation as a contingency plan should Luis Díaz depart Anfield this summer. 

The Reds have reportedly set a valuation of around €80 million for the Colombian winger, and Bayern Munich is said to be preparing a bid within that price range.

Real Madrid is understood to be open to selling Rodrygo, a stance the player is already aware of. However, finances remain a potential hurdle for Liverpool. 

Rodrygo currently earns an annual salary of €10 million, a figure that exceeds the typical wage structure at the Merseyside club and could complicate negotiations.

A separate report by journalist Santi Aouna has revealed that Liverpool has initiated direct communication with Rodrygo’s representatives, led by his father, Eric Goes. 

These discussions indicate a genuine and serious interest from Liverpool in making a formal move for the Brazilian forward, underlining the club’s proactive approach in the transfer market.

Xabi Alonso Clarifies Rodrygo’s Reduced Role Next Season

Rodrygo’s situation has been further complicated by the arrival of new Real Madrid manager Xabi Alonso, who has reportedly informed the player that his opportunities for regular playing time will be extremely limited next season. 

This candid message from the head coach adds further weight to the speculation that Rodrygo is preparing for an exit.

In addition, tensions between Rodrygo and the club have reportedly increased in recent months. This follows comments made by his father expressing dissatisfaction with his son’s diminishing role in the squad throughout the previous campaign.
