Ruben Amorim Predicted to Leave Manchester United Before Christmas
Mansion Sports – Ruben Amorim has been warned that he may not “last until Christmas” as Manchester United manager, following a fragile start to the season that has left the team described as being “one bad step away from a major crisis.”
So far, the Red Devils have secured just one win from their opening three fixtures of the 2025/26 Premier League campaign and suffered a shocking Carabao Cup exit at the hands of League Two side Grimsby Town in the second round.
William Gallas’ Criticism of Amorim
Former Chelsea and Arsenal defender William Gallas has questioned Amorim’s demeanor on the touchline, suggesting that the Portuguese manager appears “lost” and struggling to find solutions.
Speaking to Gambling Zone, Gallas remarked:
“Ruben’s problem right now is that he looks like he’s searching for answers on the bench. It’s as if this is the first time he is trying to figure out how to make his team play better. He seems lost. His body language and emotional expressions do not inspire confidence in either the players or the Manchester United supporters. With the situation as it is, I am not sure he will last until Christmas, because United feel just one defeat or one poor performance away from a full-blown crisis.”
Amorim’s Plans for Training and Team Cohesion
Despite the criticism, Amorim is reportedly working on initiatives to strengthen team unity. Reports suggest he plans to take the squad to Portugal and Dubai for warm-weather training camps during the winter break.
The move is also intended to fill gaps in United’s schedule, as the club is absent from European competition this season and already eliminated from the Carabao Cup.
Between now and Christmas, the Red Devils have only one midweek fixture scheduled—a Premier League clash against West Ham on December 3.
A Stern Test on the Horizon
Amorim found some relief when United earned their first league victory of the season against Burnley before the international break. However, a far tougher challenge now awaits, with a derby showdown against Manchester City looming on Sunday.
Whether Amorim can silence the doubts with a positive result—or instead edge closer to the grim prediction made by William Gallas—remains to be seen.
