Mansion Sport - Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) is reportedly developing a strategic plan to anticipate a future without their current first-choice goalkeeper, Gianluigi Donnarumma. 

This move has sparked renewed hope among several clubs that have long been interested in acquiring the Italian shot-stopper.

Donnarumma joined PSG in 2021 on a free transfer, but his future at the French capital club now appears uncertain. 

His current contract is set to expire next year, and negotiations regarding an extension have reached an impasse. 

Although Donnarumma has previously stated that remaining in Paris is his top priority, no agreement has been finalized thus far.

This situation presents the upcoming summer transfer window as PSG’s final opportunity to secure a financial return from Donnarumma’s departure. If they fail to act, the club risks losing a key player without compensation—much like how he arrived.

Transfer fee discussions—estimated to be in the region of €40 million (approximately £34.9 million or $47 million)—are ongoing, as PSG simultaneously navigates the unresolved situation surrounding Donnarumma’s contract.

This proactive move signals PSG’s intent not to be caught off guard should their starting goalkeeper leave. By targeting a young and promising talent like Chevalier, PSG aims to safeguard its goalkeeping department in both the short and long term.

Manchester United’s interest in Donnarumma is more than mere speculation. The English club is known to be exploring a variety of goalkeeper options during this summer transfer window.

Confidence in André Onana as the primary goalkeeper has begun to waver, prompting the club to evaluate potential alternatives.

United has been linked with several candidates, including promising young goalkeeper Senne Lammens from Royal Antwerp. They also reportedly made a loan approach for Aston Villa’s Emiliano Martínez, though the proposal was swiftly rejected.
